Sunday December 16 Coalpit Heath v Nicholas Wanderers (3rd Round Cup Tie)
Result - Coalpit Heath 5 : Nicholas Wanderers 6 (after extra time)
I tried to tell the boys to relax, have a bit of fun whilst playing the last match before christmas, and that there was no pressure, and play with a smiley face!!
However, as soon as the first whistle was sounded, they went into "we will not be beaten mode", and promptly won the 1st game 4-2, with a hat trick from Cookie, and a top finish from our resident opera singer, Cassidy.
We lost the 2nd game 1-3, their equaliser coming 30 seconds before the final whistle, which put the tie into extra time.
Alistairs goal was such a reward as it was something we have tried to work on with him, and it paid off.
We lost 0-1 in extra time, but never at any stage did the boys feel overawed by playing a team from a higher division.
A few of the boys were upset at the end, but they must all feel proud of the way they played, and that in itself speaks volumes to the way they conduct theirselves, the way they play, and the future is looking very, very good indeed.
It is at times like this, that I feel very proud to have such a nice bunch around me, and I know the rest of the staff feel the same.

Sunday 25 November Coalpit Heath v Whitchurch
Result (A Team) Coalpit Heath 5 : Whitchurch 1
After playing Whitchurch last week we knew they would give us a real test, as they dont deserve to be at the foot of the table.
However, our A squad played arguably the best football so far this season, and won 5-1 with 2 from Harry and a goal each from Cookie, Cassidy and Ashley.
Result (B Team) Coalpit Heath 1 : Whitchurch 1
The B squad were given a much harder test and drew 1-1 after coming back from a goal down, with Jack equalising.
We did play the better football, and on another day would have scored 3 or 4.
Well done to everybody involved, lets keep it going!

Sunday November 18 Whitchurch v Coalpit Heath
Result - (A Team) Whitchurch 5 : Coalpit Heath 7
On a cold wet and utterly miserable morning, Whitchurch made a mockery of their bottom position in the league, by giving our A squad a real test.
We finally came through to win 7-5, with goals from Cookie,2, Ashley, Harry, Cassidy and 2 crackers from Luke.
The boys were up against it at times, but we kept pressing and got the rewards.
Result - (B Team) Whitchurch 1 : Coalpit Heath 4
Our B squad had a slightly easier game, although we had to defend at times, and Matthew had one of his best games yet.
The boys won 4-1 with 2 apiece from Tom and Alistair.
Towards the end, the boys were seizing up with the cold, (along with the parents and coaching staff!), so great credit goes to everyone who was involved.
That may put us up to 3rd in the league, keep it up, and well done.

Sunday November 11 Keynsham Juniors v Coalpit Heath
After conceding an own goal against a good Keynsham team, the boys responded with a goal from Harry, and a great finish from Cassidy to win 2-1.
They never let their heads drop, and if it wasnt for the Keynsham keeper, we could have scored 5 or 6.
The other game was a slighly easier task, with the boys running out 4-0 winners, with goals from Dylan, (2) Jack and Tom, with Archie in goal never really being tested.
Well done to everyone, keep it going!!

Sunday 4 November Mangotsfield v Coalpit Heath
Result (A Team) Mangotsfield 0 : Coalpit Heath 2
After a cautious start, the A team finally ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a brace from Cookie, the first being a well executed dipping volley, and a tap in near the end which killed off a spirited Mangotsfield side that caused us a few problems.
An unfortunate injury to Luke meant that Harry had to drop back into defence, and although he wasnt entirely happy playing there, he did an admirable job playing out of position.
A couple of substitutions were required and those that that came on performed well.
Result (B Team) Mangotsfield 0 : Coalpit Heath 10
The B team won 10-0 in what was quite a one sided game, but credit must go to Mangotsfield, as they never gave up trying for a consolation goal.
It was an all round excellent performance with goals from Matt, Dylan, (another tenner Craig!), Tom and Jack, 2 apiece, and Kieron with 4, (reckon that is £20 then Mark!).
Well done to Kieron, he has been patient, as have the other boys that have been subs, and has taken his chance.
The competition for places is at an all time high!!! (Thanks boys, the headache gets worse!)

Sunday October 28 Coalpit Heath v Ashton Boys
Following on from last Sundays excellent result, we found ourselves up against the league leaders, and lost 2-3, when everybody who watched the games, and even their manager, would agree that a draw would have been a fair result.
We won the 1st game 1-0, thanks to a late Tom effort, and I thought we played the better football and should have won by a greater margin.
The second game could have gone either way, and although we lost 1-3, Ashley scoring with a neat finish, and a penalty miss, the boys never gave up and deserved something from the game.
Overall, nobody can question the boys effort, determination and the refusal to be intimidated no matter who the opposition are, and the tactics that they try to use.
Well done to everyone.

Sunday October 14 Winterbourne v Coalpit Heath
Two excellent performances from both teams, and I think everybody who watched will agree we deserved all 3 points. We had to rearrange the A squad just before kick off when Luke injured his hand and was replaced in goal by Max. However, that didnt affect the team, and the work rate from everyone was exceptional. We lost 0-2, but that was not a true reflection on the game. In the second game, again an excellent performance and workrate, and we were fully deserved the 3-1 win with Tom, Dylan (£10 eh Craig!), and James scoring our goals. Once again, well done to all the boys, you will play worse than that and win!!
